2021 marked the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Oxford Botanic Garden, the oldest botanic garden in the UK and one of the oldest in the world. On reaching this milestone and celebrating the Garden's history and past scientific achievements, we are now looking to the future and planning for the next hundred years and beyond. We embrace the University's commitment to deliver world class research, teaching, and engagement and pledge our own commitment to plant conservation and communicating the importance of plants to people and the survival of the planet we all live on. As a 21st century botanic garden we seek to share the scientific wonder and importance of plants with the World.
