Purchased in 2014, and enlarged in 2016, Yoesden Bank is one of BBOWTs newer reserves. Mark Vallance or Chris Trew of BBOWT will give us a tour of the site, which is home to Devil’s-bit Scabious, Chiltern gentians, and 28 species of butterfly including Adonis, Chalkhill and Small Blue.
From Chinnor, head south west on Hill Road. Part way up hill, turn left on to Chinnor Road. Follow road for approx. 1 mile before turning right on to Radnage Lane, continuing down past the church where the road turns into Cherry Lane. At junction, turn left into Town End Road; follow this road for approx. 400m before turning left into Bottom Road. The entrance to the reserve is through gateway on the left of road just before the Thames Water pumping station (SU789974, HP14 4EQ). Cars can be parked on a grassy strip that runs up to the reserve.
